The Orange County Humane Society strives to provide temporary safe refuge for the sick, injured, lost, neglected, abused and unwanted animals. Their shelter’s goal is to find a permanent, loving home for all the homeless pets and to provide rehabilitation whenever possible. They believe that they are the final hope for these animals and it is their obligation to strive to do the best they can to rescue them from their unfortunate situation.

Numerous animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and reptiles continue to enjoy the services of the OCHS and it is their goal to continue this mission for as long as stray and sick animals still roam the streets. OCHS the center is undergoing another metamorphosis in hopes of helping even more unwanted or neglected animals.

German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County (GSROC) is an organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing purebred German Shepherd dogs that have no where else to turn. Dogs for adoption are housed in foster home situations and in private boarding facilities boarding the dogs while they wait for their forever families. They place loving dogs into forever homes with compassionate individuals and families.

The Amanda Foundation has placed thousands of homeless animals. It is an organization that rescues dogs and cats who, through no fault of their own, are spending their last days at City and County Shelters.

Dedicated volunteers give the shy and mistreated orphans special attention and spend hours daily walking frightened and insecure dogs and petting and reassuring the timid kittens and cats. These animals were either strays or brought into the shelters by their owners. They believe they all should have a second chance, and they will work tirelessly to rescue as many as possible.

Basic Needs Foundation, Inc. (B.N.F.) is an organization. They provide food for working homeless people, who live in their vehicles with their children. They also provide pet food for homeless people’s pets. Their vehicles are their homes!

They also provide pet food to low income people and cat food for feral cats. We find homes for pets, when their working homeless owners can no longer take care of them. They organize “Fix Your Pets” Mobile spay/neuter program. This allows them to hire mobile clinics and provide spaying and neutering to low income pet.

OC Animal Care promotes responsible pet ownership; health and safety of people and animals and spay/neuter programs. The Animal Care Center provides temporary shelter and medical care for “lost” owned or stray animals and opportunities for adoption of these animals.

OC Animal Care is a division of OC Community Resources. OC Animal Care provides pet licensing and patrol services to 18 contract cities and all the unincorporated areas of the County. OC Animal Care houses and provides medical care for impounded dogs, cats and exotic animals.
